One-day workshop to review the package of laws proposed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare

02.07.2020

Coalition for Social Justice and Socio-Economic Rights organized a one-day workshop to review the package of laws proposed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, included in this year’s legislative agenda.

Representatives from the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, trade unions and partner organizations, along with the Coalition members, discussed proposals for changes to the package of laws which regulate the field of labor relations, and addressed issues raised in the document for public consultation – especially issues related to the Labor Law, the Law on maternity leave (maternity leave, paternity and parental leave), the Law on Inspectorate, as well as the Law on Socio-Economic Council.

Civil society organizations, engaged since the public consultation phase regarding the drafting of the package of laws proposed by MLSW, have once again recommended that proposals for legislative changes be taken into account and addressed in the final drafts adopted by the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo.

This activity was carried out within the project “Social Dialogue for Social Justice” implemented by the Coalition for Social Justice and Socio-Economic Rights, funded by the Olof Palme International Center and supported by the Swedish Government.
