Workshop with members of municipal assemblies

08.07.2025

In the train of D4D Institute’s #DemocracyBootcamps, a three-day workshop was organized with members of municipal assemblies, focusing on preparations for the 2025 local elections.

Participants were drawn from individuals who had previously attended #DemocracyBootcamps trainings, initially joining the workshops as  youth forum members or candidates for municipal councilors. Throughout their mandate, they have remained active in workshops and trainings designed to meet their needs and support their professional growth and more effective engagement in local governance.

The #DemocracyBootcamp touched on key topics including the upcoming electoral cycle, preventing the dissemination of fake news and disinformation, and effective community engagement. Participants had the opportunity to work in groups, share experiences from their municipalities, and develop concrete ideas on local initiatives to increase transparency and citizen involvement in decision-making processes.

Through practical exercises and simulations, they were equipped with tools to improve communication with citizens and build more trust in local institutions. The training also served as a platform for networking and sharing good practices between representatives from different municipalities, fostering possible future inter-municipal cooperation. Special focus was given to the inclusion of women and youth in local electoral and political processes.

D4D Institute’s #DemocracyBootcamps offer young people the opportunity to develop their skills, become more effective and informed actors in political life, and play more active and sustainable role in decision-making and public policies.
