On 9th of June,the Tuesday Salon’s topic was about Self-censorship in Balkan media. The opening remarks were delivered by Lily Lynch, editor at Balkanist magazine, Arben Ahmeti, Programme Director at TV Dukagjini and Flutura Kusari, legal advisor at BIRN. The Salon was moderated by Driton Qeriqi, while the editorial will be written by Dafina Halili.

The participants of this Salon, who were journalists as well as experts of other fields, addressed the main factors of self-censorship, which may be economic, social, legal and political reasons. Also, the participants gave great examples of Kosovar journalists risking their salary or even their well-being by reporting on a crime, which gives hope that journalism in Kosovo is improving day by day.
