Empowering women through dialogue and advocacy

08.05.2025

In the framework of the “Decision making through dialogue: Improving the life in rural settlements through advocacy by groups of interest” project, supported by the “SMART Balkans – Civil Society for Shared Society in the Western Balkans” regional project, D4D aims to address one among the big challenges in Kosovo, the high number of unemployed inactive women, especially in rural settlements, by empowering local activists that will become agents of change.

D4D held meetings with Center for Equality and Justice in Prizren and ‘Syri i Vizionit’ in Peja. The purpose of these meetings was to introduce the project – its purpose and vision, and discuss the possibility of them joining the initiative to establish a group of activists. This group will be engaged with identifying the issues/cases, field research, data collection, and producing materials that will be used to advocate and lobby for concrete policy changes.

During this process, D4D will offer continued support, expertise and capacity building in fields like: research methodologies, drafting public policies, as well as techniques on communication, advocacy, and lobbying. The long-term vision is to establish a sustainable model of engagement, which directly affects the improvement of socio-economic status of women in Kosovo, in particular those living in rural settlements.

“Decision making through dialogue: Improving the life in rural settlements through advocacy by groups of interest” is implemented with the support of “SMART Balkans – Civil Society for Shared Society in the Western Balkans” regional project implemented by Centar za promociju civilnog društva (CPCD), Center for Research and Policy Making (CRPM) and Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM) and financially supported by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (NMFA).
