The Democracy for Development Institute (D4D), in partnership with the NDI Kosovo, organized a panel discussion today on the topic “Elections and Technology: Impact on Modern Democracy.” The event was attended by experts, policymakers, and representatives of civil society, who examined the challenges and opportunities presented by technological innovations, including aspects of security, transparency, and public trust.
At a time when technology is profoundly transforming every aspect of the electoral process, the discussion aimed to explore its challenges and effects on transparency, voter engagement, and security, as well as to analyze how new technological advances are shaping these areas.
This activity is organized with the support of the “SMART Balkans – Civil Society for Shared Society in the Western Balkans” regional project implemented by Centar za promociju civilnog društva (CPCD), Center for Research and Policy Making (CRPM) and Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM) and financially supported by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (NMFA).
