As part of our activities to promote media literacy, we held a workshop with students from the “7 Shtatori” Hospitality and Tourism High School, where we introduced the Verifiko platform — a tool designed to strengthen critical thinking and help young people navigate the online information environment more responsibly.
During the session, we discussed how social media algorithms influence the information we see every day, and how global events and international developments often shape public discourse in Kosovo through online media and social platforms.
Students also explored the phenomenon of clickbait, learning how sensational headlines are used to capture attention and how they can sometimes lead us to believe or share information without verifying it first. Through practical examples, we discussed simple steps to evaluate the credibility of information and become more critical and responsible media consumers.
This activity was carried out with the support of the project “Support to Civil Society in Kosovo”, funded by the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and implemented by LuxDev – Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency
