Media Literacy in Schools: Training Session with Teachers in Prishtina

22.07.2026

Today, the second and final training session was held for teachers of Prishina as media literacy facilitators in schools.

During the session, teachers discussed the rapid advancement of technology and the challenges this phenomenon brings to schools, dealing with vast amounts of unverified information, as well as the impact of social media consumption among young people, which is undermining their trust in educational institutions.

Teachers were also introduced to the verifiko.info platform, where they discussed using it during classes as a supplementary tool featuring materials updated alongside technological developments and online trends.

At the end all the attendees shared their recommendations, expressing hope that media literacy will soon become part of the school curriculum, both as a standalone subject and as a cross-curricular component where it can be addressed in greater detail.

This training session is carried out with the support of the “Support to civil society in Kosovo” project, funded by the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and implemented by LuxDev, Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency.
