Within the project “Advocacy for the approval of facilities for businesses run by women during the confrontation with the COVID-19 pandemic” implemented by the Association “Vizionida” was conducted a survey of 52 businesses run by women in the Municipality of Shtime, through which the needs of businesses were identified as well as their proposals on concrete measures that the Municipality can take to help them.

The main goal of the project was to improve the position of women-led businesses in the Municipality of Shtime, by identifying their needs and concrete proposals to help these women, by making changes to the “Municipal Regulation on Tariff Taxes and Fines of 2021”, which were drafted by this organization through the results of the survey. Some of the requirements were: exemption from the payment of Municipal Rent to all businesses that use Municipal property in the Economic Zone for 2021; Exemption from the payment of the Municipal Tax for the use of Municipal Property with temporary destination such as: Kiosks (Corners), Installation Facilities, etc., for the year 2021 and exemption from the payment of the Tax for the use of market spaces for the year 2021. Another requirement was the consideration of the possibility that in 2021 the Municipality to include in the budget grants or financial assistance for businesses run by women in this municipality.

“Vizionida” association was one of the beneficiary organizations of the small grant scheme awarded by the D4D Institute within the project “Addressing the Impact of COVID-19 on Women’s Rights in the Labor Market” supported by the Balkan Trust for Democracy.
