The Democracy for Development (D4D) Institute, as part of its ongoing work with new members of political parties #DemocracyBootcamps , organized a three-day workshop (August 29–31) aimed at empowering first-time candidates for municipal assemblies and strengthening their capacities for more effective political and institutional representation.
A total of 33 candidates from different political parties, all running for the first time in municipal assemblies, took part in the training. During the workshop, participants were equipped with knowledge and practical tools to support their political and civic engagement. On the first day, they focused on identifying the most important community issues and setting clear priorities. Candidates then developed skills in advocacy strategy, improved their communication techniques, and learned how to craft clear and effective political messages. The third day was dedicated to practical exercises, including public speaking, campaign planning, and simulations designed to prepare them for real challenges during the electoral process.
The workshop served as an important platform for new candidates, equipping them with practical knowledge and skills to represent their communities more effectively in the upcoming elections.
This project is supported by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).
