Report: “Analysis of the Results of the 2025 Local and National Elections from a Gender Perspective” was launched at a conference organized by Democracy for Development (D4D) and the Center for Equality and Justice.
During the conference, the report’s key findings were presented, followed by discussions on the challenges of women’s representation in politics, structural barriers, and the need for greater space and support for women in decision-making.
The panel discussion, “From Quotas to Genuine Representation: Empowering Women in Politics,” featured Arbëreshë Kryeziu-Hyseni (LVV), Eliza Hoxha (PDK), Sibel Halimi (LDK), and Time Kadrijaj (AAK), moderated by Muhamet Hajrullahu.
Panelists discussed #hatespeech and public attacks targeting #WomenInPolitics, the importance of encouraging more women to engage in political life, and the need for stronger internal democracy within political parties. It was also emphasized that the challenges citizens face are not gendered, and that public debate should focus more on the real issues affecting people’s daily lives.
The report was prepared within the framework of a project supported by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Kosovo aiming to analyze women’s inclusion and representation in the 2025 local and parliamentary elections, examining all stages of the electoral process from nomination and electoral support to the final results.
