Transparency of the Assembly of the RKS, how much fake news and desinformation affecting, and are citizens interested to be informed about transparency in the Assembly of Kosovo,were some of the questions discussed and debated in Tuesday’s salon with the main topic: Transparency of the Assembly of the RKS. What can be further improved further?

During this discussion a draft planning, which is about to finalize was emphasized, that will include many activities, discussions, and comments. Moreover, a proposal was presented,which is to make RTK4 a live portal in the media, with the aim of making the Assembly of Kosovo transparent. 

As for how much fake news and disinformation is affecting, it was highlighted that online portals often write fake news, which is a significant problem that seems to not have a specific solution making it a long term problem. 

Furthermore, during the discussion it was expressed the necessity of having a website for the Assembly of Kosovo, since the current one is rarely updated and not active most of the time, therefore, with this proposal it was stressed that the transparency is way more noticeable towards citizens. 

As for the topic of how much interest can have in transparency, it was drawn to the fact that these people should be more proactive.

Part of the panel in this salon were: Arbëreshë Kryeziu Hyseni, Deputy of the Assembly of Kosovo (LVV), Albert Krasniqi, Program Director at Democracy Plus, Afërdita Syla, Senior Program Manager at NDI Kosovo, and Driton Selmanaj, Deputy of the Assembly of Kosovo (LDK). The moderation was carried out by Allen Meta, whereas the editorial for this salon was written by Arbër Thaçi, researcher at KDI.

This salon has been organized in cooperation with the Assembly of Kosovo to mark the Global Week of Parliamentary Opening.
