The presence of Hate Speech in the Community – Challenges and Solutions was the topic discussed at the Tuesday Salon in North Mitrovica yesterday.
To discuss this topic, the panelists were: Dušan Radaković, Executive Director at the Center for Advocacy of Democratic Culture; Lulzim Hakaj, Activist; and Ana Marija Ivković, Journalist. The Salon was moderated by Ines Aljovic Mihajlovic, Program Officer at the Center for Advocacy of Democratic Culture.
During the discussion, the impact of hate speech on the relationships between the majority and the minority was emphasized, along with the challenges faced in dealing with fake news when reporting cases, and the difficulties in identifying this phenomenon. The involvement of NGOs and the challenges in combating this phenomenon, especially in recent years and in the context of current circumstances, were also addressed.
