“The Importance of Digitalization of Public Services in Prizren: Relevance and Benefits for Citizens”, was the topic that was discussed at the Tuesday Salon in the Municipality of Prizren. To discuss this topic, invited to the panel were: Edin Shehu, Director of Administration in the Municipality of Prizren, and Eroll Shabani, from the organization “Ec ma ndryshe”. While this salon was moderated by Tringa Kasemi, from the organization “Center for Equality and Justice”.
The panelists shared an important discussion about the digitalization of public services and transparency in local administration. This topic is more relevant than ever, as the Prizren government has made extraordinary efforts to provide efficient and transparent services to citizens.
An important step has been the creation of online services through the Ekosova platform. With 195 services offered on this portal, the Municipality of Prizren is the second municipality in
Kosovo to have enabled such services, making this process simpler and more efficient for citizens. Despite these advances, informing citizens on the use of the Ekosova platform remains a challenge. The municipality has created dedicated counters to assist citizens who have problems accessing the portal and, as a result, there has been an increase in services provided online.
The municipality is working to promote digital services, with a particular focus on renewing the municipal website and informing citizens, aiming for them to have easy access to online services, including payments for taxes and other services.
