Parliamentary oversight on the executive: Law enforcement and monitoring

On Tuesday, October 20, the Tuesday Salon on the topic: “Parliamentary oversight on the executive: Law enforcement and monitoring” was held. Part of the panel in this salon were: Vlora Limani Hajnuni, Democratic League of Kosovo; Artan Abrashi, Lëvizja Vetëvendosje and Rreze Hoxha, Group for Political and Legal Studies.

During this discussion, Mrs. Limani – Hajnuni emphasized that the oversight role that the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo has through various mechanisms, is not sufficiently used, emphasizing that this role has not been used either in the past or at the moment. She expressed that this is also confirmed by the various reports of various local and international organizations, which monitor the Assembly.

Meanwhile, Mr. Abrashi while talking about the current legislature, he stressed that this is not the legislature that the people wanted. He emphasized that beside to the spring session, in the autumn session the volume of work has been increased as a result of the pressure from opposition.

Rreze Hoxha from GLPS, says that based on various reports, it is noticeable that parliamentary oversight on the executive is not at a satisfactory level. While as a reason for this decline of oversight can also be considered the issue of pandemic.
