Misinformation and misogynistic language towards women in politics: How to combat this phenomenon in the Municipality of Mitrovica?, was the topic discussed in Tuesday’s Salon, which was held on the 7th of November 2023.
Invited for the panel to discuss on this topic were: Shkurta Shosholli Musa, Municipal Councilor from LVV, Xhyljeta Imeri, Municipal Councilor from LDK and Vetone Veliu, Executive Director at “Mitrovica Women Association for Human Rights”. The salon was moderated by Valbone Sadiku, Executive Director at “CECD-Friends”.
During this salon, it was discussed that women in general face hate speech, especially women in politics, where they are not evaluated for their political skills but for their appearance, and it was emphasized that social networks are concerning for the fact that, many times, the news published are not accurate. Women participating in the audience also expressed the concerns and challenges they face in the society.
