13.02.2020

Success stories towards the political engagement of women assembly members and the challenges/needs of young women from the Municipality of Prishtina, were two main topics discussed during a joint discussion between non-formal group of women assembly members of the Municipality of Prishtina and young women from this municipality.

The initiative for this meeting came from the non-formal group of women assembly member, with the aim of motivating young women for decision-making and greater activism, by telling the story of their political journey. Also, a very important part of the discussion was dedicated to identifying the needs of women in their community, in order for the nonformal group of women assembly members to address their problems in the Municipal Assembly of Prishtina.

The meeting was held as part of the project “Beyond numerical parity: Empowerment of women assembly members in local governance”, which aims at strengthening advocacy and active women’s participation in political processes, with a particular focus on women members of Municipal Assemblies in local governance.

This project is supported under the Equality Engagement Program – E4E, financed by the United States Agency for International Development – USAID Kosovo and supported by the Advocacy Training and Resource Center – ATRC.
