On Tuesday 13th of June, the Salon was held under the topic: “Women, pillar of our society” – Bluff of campaigns or at the center of future government?”

Opening remarks were delivered by: Sibel Halimi, Lecturer on gender studies, Faculty of Philology said that in this electoral campaign more than ever political parties were folding programs that would develop the position of women in society. But their media campaigns were filled with gender stereotyping by placing the woman back in her “main” position as a mother. First of all, no one promised the placement of women in leadership positions or mentioned the domestic violence or even giving space to party rallies.

The salon was moderated by Eraldin Fazliu, Kosovo 2.0, and the op-ed was written by Valëza Zogjani, D4D Institute.
