On June 28th, the topic of the Salon was: “To what extent do graduates from education centers and vocational schools find jobs in Kosovo?”

Opening remarks were delivered by: Jehona Serhati, VET Researcher and Alejtin Berisha, Executive Director, Universum College. Panelists said that There are about 30,000 young people who are entering the job market within a year. And since there is no “labor market” in Kosovo, young people are part of the high percentage of unemployed people. Highways, sporadic “unemployment mitigation” projects through seasonal employment are failing to mitigate the situation, although the state is constantly using statistics to promote a generally misleading impression that “something is still being done”.

The Salon was moderated by Naime Brajshori, Deputy Director, QEAP Heimerer and the op-ed was written by Erjonë Popova, Journalist, BIRN and can be read here.
