At The Tuesday Salon, discussions focused on the provision of public services and transparency at the local level, alongside the launch of the research “Towards an Open Government at the Local Level.”
To discuss this topic, the panel guests were: Bekim Salihu, Policy Analyst at the GAP Institute, and Nexhat Tovërlani, Head of Public Communication at the Municipality of Podujeva.
During the discussion, the importance of publishing municipal documents, citizen participation in decision-making, and the functioning of the municipal website was emphasized. However, challenges remain in citizen engagement and law enforcement. Transparency needs to be strengthened for more open and accountable governance.
**The salon was organised by The Democracy for Development Institute within the framework of the project “Citizen participation 4 better decisions”, supported by the Small Grant Facility programme of WeBER 3.0 project, implemented in Kosovo by Group for Legal and Political Studies and funded by the European Union and the Austrian Development Agency.
