On Tuesday, May 24th, the topic of the Salon in Mitrovica was: “Youth vs. Religion: Are youth more or less religious than their parents?

Opening remarks were delivered by: Vjosa Musliu, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Political Sciences, Free University of Brussels, and Besa Ismaili, Vice-dean, Faculty of Islamic Studies, Pristina. Panelists said that the growth of religious sentiment on young people who are living in transition society needs to be given special attention, given that we already have certain elements that tend to deviate the teaching of religion. Raising the quality of education is also an element that we have to consider to a great extent, because at certain times the need for these young people to understand the issue of religious right is felt.

The salon was moderated by Tafil Peci, Director, Directorate for Youth and Culture, and the op-ed was written by Kenan Beqiri, Project Coordinator, Community Building Mitrovica and can be read here.

This salon is organized in cooperation with Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) and Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports.
