How informed are citizens about energy subsidies, and how easy is access to them?

13.05.2026

The data shows that many citizens still face difficulties in finding information and benefiting from energy subsidy programmes. More than 50% of citizens remain outside subsidy programmes: they neither apply nor are informed about them.

Only 1 in 4 citizens manages to apply successfully, while many face complicated procedures, excessive documentation, and long waiting times.

Clearer information and simpler procedures are essential to ensure more equal access to subsidies and sustainable investments.
