The D4D Institute held a workshop on November 11 with the students of “Sami Frashëri” High School.
We had a fantastic time today with the super engaged students of “Sami Frashëri” Gymnasium discussing the biggest challenges of the digital age: Information Disorder and Online Hate Speech.
We discussed in depth:
- The fine line between humor and hatred: When does a satirical post on social media turn into hate speech or disinformation?
- How to distinguish real news from propaganda during electoral campaigns.
- Why it is critical to verify the source before hitting “share”!
During the workshop, the students also had the opportunity to learn about the use of the verifiko.info platform, a practical tool for verifying news and online sources.
It is essential that the younger generations are equipped with Media Literacy skills to build a more informed society!
This activity is carried out with the support of the “Support to civil society in Kosovo” project, funded by the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and implemented by LuxDev, the Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency.
