In addition to the slow increase in the employment rate of women in Kosovo, women’s disadvantage in the labor market is growing to alarming levels, deepening the gender divide and reflecting discrimination and unfavorable positions for women in the workforce.

Over the past two years, 2,751 more women have unstable employment, affecting women in both elementary and managerial professions. The number of unpaid workers has increased by 6.5 percentage points, while the percentage of women working part-time due to family caregiving responsibilities is also on the rise.

55.6% of employed women work in only three economic sectors, while only 26.5% of women earn a net salary of over 500 Euro.
