Nonfunctional Assembly: How much does it cost to Kosovo?

On Tuesday, 27th of March, D4D held it’s 200th salon, with the topic “Nonfunctional Assembly: How much does it cost to Kosovo?”

Opening Remarks were given by: Mimoza Kusari-Lila, MP, Assembly of Kosovo, Ismet Kryeziu, Executive Director, Kosovo Democratic Institute and Jehona Lushaku, Political Analyst. During the discussion there were emphasized main problems that have followed the work of Assembly and the political developements during this time. Accumulation of unproceeded laws, MPs inactivity, blocking of assembly when there were big topics on discussion and lackness of transparency and accountability towards the citizens, were the main points discussed by the panelists. There was recommanded that there should be more efficient work from Assembly, bigger determination from MPs which are the representatives of the people, starting to deal with topics that directly affect citizens and creating a wide political consensus on priorities that Kosovo should have.
