How much perspective does youth have in Kosovo?

On Monday, May 19th 2017, a Youth Salon was held in Suhareka with the topic: “How much perspective does youth have in Kosovo?”

Opening remarks will be delivered by: Sali Asllanaj, Mayor, Municipality of Suhareka which mentioned the duty that he has as mayor to create a better environment for youth. This includes extra-curriculum activities, better education condition and employment. ; Mehmet Elshani, General Secretary, Red Cross in Suhareka said that there is a really big number of youngsters who live in poor conditions which does not give them any perspective. Fadil Hamzaj, from Business community mentioned the importance on creating jobs for youth. But still education is the main target for him to help the get a job in this municipality. Valon Gega, Sociologist says that because youth do not have perspective they suffer social-anxiety which will make them take the decision of leaving Kosovo.

This Salon was moderated by Fadil Bytyçi, former correspondent of BBC in Kosovo, and Op-ed was written by Besim Kuçi.
