Economic Recovery: Priorities of the new government

10.06.2021

On June 8, D4D organized the Tuesday Salon on the topic: “Economic Recovery: Priorities of the new government.”

The package for economic recovery, among others, aims to reduce unemployment, increase economic development through employment, financing start-ups and linking professional education with the economy. During this discussion it was emphasized that there are two important elements which have been taken into account in the new government program, economic development and employment.

Some of the panelists emphasized that the new government program lacks an elaboration of measures and what was expected to be seen were measures related to business support. According to them, the implementation of the law on economic recovery should be accelerated because there are measures that have not been implemented yet. It was recommended to strengthen the cooperation with the diaspora and move beyond remittances.

Part of the panel were: Mimoza Kusari Lila, MP, Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo; Visar Vokrri, Program Director, Riinvest Institute, Valmira Rexhëbeqaj, Economist/Director of REX Consulting Group and Armend Muja, MP, Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo. The salon was moderated by Visar Prebreza, Editor, BIRN Kosovo, who will also write the editorial.

This salon is supported by the Democracy for Development Institute (D4D), as part of the project “Track 2 to Europeanization: A Partnership Approach,” funded by the Open Society Foundations.
