Opportunities for the youth in the Labor Market

Democracy for Development Institute (D4D) in continuance of the municipal information sessions, with focus on labor force mobility, has held the next session in the municipality of Peja. Guest speakers in this information session were the Director of Employment Center in Peja, Mr. Bujar Demaj, and Ms. Jeta Nushi, Chief of Youth Sector in the Department of Culture, Youth and Sports at the municipality of Peja. This activity was organized in cooperation with Local Youth Action Council in Peja within the framework of the “Labor Mobility and Benefits for Returnee” project.

The focus of the information session was about employment and opportunities that the Employment Center offers, indicators and statistics about the number of unemployed in the municipality of Peja, identifying the issues and possible solutions to address these issues. Mr. Demaj, in this information session, focused his speech on the job opportunities for young men and women through Employment Centre, where he talked about the most demanded professions and about the professional training opportunities that this center offers. Whereas, Ms Nushi emphasized that the training and education in western countries which can be used by the youth for intellectual and professional capacity building, would be beneficial for our country, thus encouraging young men and women that were participating in the information session to use the legal migration as the only means to use for these opportunities

The participating young men and women were interested to get more information about the demanded professions and about the demands that the Employment Center in Peja receives, as well as to get information about training opportunities that this center offers
