Youth and municipal leaders: How frequent are their meetings?

06.12.2018

Youth should take a more active role in society, should be more demanding in their rights and in using the opportunities that come from institutional spaces. This was specified in the Salon, organized by the Democracy for Development (D4D) Institute on December 06, 2018, in the Municipality of Prizren, with a focus on the topic: “Youth and municipal leaders: How frequent are their meetings?”

On the other hand, during the discussion the participants stated the need for the municipality to be more open to cooperation with the youth in Prizren, and in this regard to improve its communication methods. As a contribution to the discussion, panelists also had recommendations for young people, stressing that they needed a sense of self-confidence and will from the youth in order for them to maximise the opportunities and calls that the institutions are constantly making.

Part of the panel in this discussion were: Artan Abrashi, Chairperson of the Municipal Assembly, Prizren; Ehat Oreshka, Director, Directorate of Culture, Youth and Sports, Prizren; Adelina Hasani, Activist, FemAktiv, Prizren, and Arta Sopaj, Local Youth Action Council, Prizren.

The salon was moderated by Elmedina Bajgora, research assistant at the Democracy for Development Institute (D4D), while the editorial will be written by Sarandë Selimi, Journalist.
