Unequal Employment: Do we have local policies for activating women in the labor market?

03.11.2017

On Friday the Salon was held in Prizren on the topic: “Unequal Employment: Do we have local policies for activating women in the labor market?”

Informative opening was made by: Ajtene Krasniqi, business owner and Flura Marseli, business owner. Participants during the discussion pointed out that due to the lack of central level employment strategies, the local level stagnates in creating local policies. The whole process of activating women in the labor market is done with women’s self-initiative or when women help other women. Also, patriarchal society remains a challenging factor that prevents women from opening new businesses or joining the work force, although there is potential and opportunity to do so.

The activity is supported as part of the program Engagement for Equity – #E4E, funded by the United States Agency for International Development – USAID Kosovo and implemented by the Advocacy Training and Resource Center – ATRC
