Trade Unions: a starting point for decent work agenda

The D4D Institute on April 17 held the Tuesday’s salon in the municipality of Peja with the topic “Trade unions: the starting point for decent work agenda”.

The informative and encouraging opening speech was done by Mr. Brahim Pelaj from SBASHK, who spoke about the importance of trade union organizations, and SBASHK’s experience in protecting the interests of workers in the education sector. The second panelist in this salon, Mr. Samir Lleshi from the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce, the regional unit in Peja, explained the commitment of this institution in business representation and the difficulties of establishing trade unions in the business sector. Strengthening trade union capacities, ways of trade union estasblishment and organization, investing in promoting and implementing the decent work agenda, co-operation and institutional engagement among trade unions, businesses and other stakeholders were the key points of this discussion among the panelists and the participants of the salon.

This salon was moderated by Rasim Alija, the D4D Institute, and the editorial was written by Vlora Gaxherri, Syri i Vizionit.
