On May 23, 2017, Tuesday’s Salon was held on the topic: “The role of the media in these elections: Do they influence the citizens’ vote?”

The informative and provocative openings were made by: Berat Buzhala, Executive Director, Gazeta Express, who emphasized that nowadays the established media operations, while not the ones producing “fake” news, have the smallest influential role in society. This is because today’s media is engaging on Facebook, and as a result, popular posts and their sponsors have the biggest influential role. Parim Olluri, Executive Director, Insajderi, said the media should be cautious about the methods they use to report and what they offer to the readers. This is because the way the media reports directly affects how readers see the candidates.

This salon was moderated by Leart Hoxha, Click RTV 21, and the editorial was written by Artan Murati, Researcher, Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI).

Editorial of this salon is written in Albanian language and it can be read here.

Tuesday Salon is organized in cooperation with Friedrich Ebert Stiftung.
