Social Dialogue: Challenges and opportunities for the integration of youth and women into the labour market in Istog

Istog was the next municipality in which the Democracy for Development Institute (D4D) held the Tuesday’s salon with the topic “Social Dialogue: Challenges and opportunities for the integration of youth and women into the labour market in Istog”.

Changing the mentality of the education system, orientation of the youth in professional schools and their engagement in the centers of competence were highlighted by panelists as recommendations directed to the young people in the municipality of Istog. Furthermore, institutional cooperation in between the employment office, the municipality and the civil society organizations in informing and developing advocacy campaigns where the focus is on the youth and women – were also some of the recommendations draws from the discussion of this salon.

The use of resources in tourism in the municipality of Istog and the mobilization of diaspora for investing in this sector was seen by the panelists as an opportunity to increase employment for the young people and women in Istog.

This salon was organized under the project “Empowering the Social Dialogue” supported by EYE. EYE is a project of the Swiss Agency for Cooperation and implemented by the Helvetas Swiss Cooperation consortium and MDA.
