Short term contracts: marplot for women in the labour market?

On 18th of April the Tuesday Salon, was held under the topic: “Short term contracts: marplot for women in the labour market?”

Panelists stressed the importance of short-term contracts for women’s employment. Besa Zogaj-Gashi, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Economic Development emphasized that seeing the tendency of economic development around the world about IT services, Kosovo has focused on this in order to offer women employment for a short time. Basri Ibrahimi, Chief Inspector, Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare said that the labor law should be regulated to prevent violations that occur that hinder women from accessing the labor market. While Linda Shala from the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Kosovo emphasized the economic power that women have in the development sectors of Kosovo to exploit.

The salon was moderated by Milaim Morina, Executive Director, Center for policies and advocacy, and the op-ed was written by Dita Dobranja, Researcher, Riinvest Institute.
