Today, on the 15th of May, 2018, D4D held a Salon Discussion in Mitrovica with the topic “Do existing mechanisms offer the possibility of reintegration of returnees?”
Panelist in this salon were Besmir Salihu, Regional Employment Office, Bedri Sadiku, office for repatriation and reintegration, Mitrovica Municipality, Milaim Ramadani, PRAM Ngo and Isa Sejdiu, Department of Education, Mitrovica Municipality.
During this salon panelists discussed for returnees and services that are provided from institutions that deal with returnees, including socializing and reintegration, with a main focus on employment and subsidies. Even though this topic has gained momentum, problems still are evident given the irregularities and problems arising from the low budget at the municipal level. Further, the lack of awareness and information regarding the procedures for obtaining returnee benefits is proving to be also a key obstacle.
