Does the multi-perspective of teaching of history protect us from conflict?

On April 11, 2017, the Tuesday Salon was held on the topic: “Does the multi-perspective of teaching of history protect us from conflict?”

The informative and provocative opening was made by: Igor Kakolewski, History Professor and Deputy Director of the Center for Historical Research, Polish Academy of Sciences in Berlin, who said that young people should be enabled to learn history from both sides in order to prevent future conflicts. Shkelzen Gashi, Publicist, said that when young people learn the history from many perspectives they develop critical thinking. Muhamet Mala, Professor of Albanian History, the Faculty of Philosophy emphasized that in Balkan history books are filled with hateful terms.

This salon was moderated by Ramadan Sokoli, Youth Initiative for Human Rights (YIHR), while the editorial was written by Joanna Hanson, Co-Founder, New Perspectiva.

This Tuesday Salon was organized in cooperation with Friedrich Ebert Stiftung and New Perspektiva.
