Campaign Financial Statement Reports

Democracy for Development Institute (D4D) calls upon all coalition and political parties who participated in the snap elections on 11 June 2017, to respect the legal time frame and submit the Election Campaign Financial Reports to the Central Election Commission. The Law on Financing of the Political Parties clearly defines the legal time frame for submitting the financial statement reports in regards to campaign activities by the political parties, in this case by 26 July 2017.

D4D Institute reminds all political parties for the declaration on increasing the financial transparency, facilitated by D4D and signed by political parties on 29 May 2017, that calls on political parties to publish their financial reports, making them available for the wider public and thus demonstrate their good will for greater transparency and accountability. Timely publication of the financial reports is in the best interest for democratization process within political parties. As such, any income and expenditure should be subject to oversight mechanisms, in order to ensure that funds are managed in accordance with applicable laws.

D4D remains committed to cooperate with political parties towards greater transparency and financial accountability.
