Breakfast briefing: Presenting the paper about tourism

20.07.2017

Democracy for Development Institute (D4D), on 18th of July, organized a breakfast briefing with journalists of the economy field to present the newest publication about tourism.

Bearing in mind that the society in general is not encouraged and well informed about tourism, and the benefits that we may have from this area, D4D organized this meeting to inform the journalists more about these opportunities and about the role that the National Tourism Organization will have in the management and advancement of tourism capacities.
Findings of this paper include information on the number of tourists, the obstacles that are causing tourism to lag behind during this period, and the recommendations made in this research. The important thing of this meeting was that everyone agreed with the recommendations presented in the paper, but criticized the relevant institutions that are slowing down the process.

The journalists who were present, expressed their readiness to write about the field of tourism. However, the key point raised at this meeting was the low promotion that Kosovo has done for tourism, compared to other countries in the region.
In this meeting were present 5 journalists from various televisions and portals.

“This activity is realised with the support of PPSE Program Swisscontact(PPSE), the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation in Kosovo (SDC) and implemented by Swisscontact (lead partner), Riinvest Institute and PEM Consult.”
